A good example is sticky, holds the saying. Following the ninth weekend of this year's Budapest 100 Open House Weekend, several European cities and districts are organizing their own festival, including Őrmező, Budapest. The purpose of the TimeWalking Festival is not only to entertain but also to build community, which has good basis in Újbuda.
The lead partner of the project is Újbuda, where there are already many events focusing on the local identity, such as the "Albertfalvi Napok", the "Kelenvölgyi Ezerjó" or the "Őrmező Ünnepe". Te last at september will be partnered with the "IdőJárás" (TimeWalking) Festival, not just for a day. It can transform our relationship with the city and its residents. Participants take greater responsibility for what they know, understand, and love, and also recognize that they have the opportunity to shape their environment. The jointly designed, executed programs and actions can create a real community of people living side by side.
Along its urbanistic potential and the resulting dams Őrmező is a cohesive community, with many interesting stories, epic poetry and city curiosities, along with active cultural institutions and NGOs. The center of the event – September 15 – is the Poets Park, and its main attraction is a public installation, designed by architect students and involving residents. The walkable spatial composition presents the results of community city history research, and shared stories and photographs of locals, show how life has been in Őrmező for the past fourty years. In addition, there is a variety of activities for all ages: there will be panel building in Lego, a community sport, rooftop photography and city board games.
