Urban Agriculture is the center of attention of the National Rural Network Magazine

Edited on 02/08/2019

The Italian National Rural Network magazine dedicates an entire issue to urban gardens, The silent revolution of the hoe, with an article on the urban garden Parco Ort9 Sergio Albani in Rome which is managed by the Association Vivere in…, a very active member of the ULG (Urbact Local Group) of Rome.

The June issue illustrates urban and periurban agriculture as a growing phenomenon: a resource and a challenge for more sustainable cities from the environmental and social points of view. Challenges and opportunities of the new city/countryside relationship are also faced in the articles. Special attentions is paid to the experience of urban gardens, where agriculture does not means only production but a new way to regulate the relationship between agriculture and the population within cities.

The new National Rural Network is an operational tool capable of addressing priority issues, starting from the implementation and management of the RDP (Rural Development Programs). The 2014-2020 program focuses on the greater involvement of all stakeholders, the transparency and visibility of EU and national policies, emphasizing opportunities for young people and the promotion of innovation in the agri-food and forestry sector.
