Summary
I am an architectural designer, urban researcher, and participatory planner with extensive experience in professional practice, academia, and educational programs, operating at the nexus of urban design, integrated strategies, and transnational learning in European and international settings.
My professional background combines practical architectural and urban design experience in Germany with research-informed expertise in inclusive and participatory approaches to urban development. I have experience in early architectural project stages (LPH 1-5) in various settings, allowing me to apply complex spatial and organizational problems to integrated and actionable strategies.
In addition to professional practice, I have a strong academic and research background. As a Ph.D. graduate from Technische Universität Berlin, my research explored the hidden curriculum of urban space around girls’ elementary schools, focusing on the role of spatial and social affordances in informal learning, agency, and everyday negotiation. This research provides cities with evidence-informed insights to develop gender-sensitive and child-friendly urban environments, especially in settings with social and cultural constraints.
An important aspect of my work is my focus on participatory and educational approaches. I have experience in designing and conducting architecture-based learning and workshop activities for children, using creative and practical approaches to develop spatial awareness, cultural understanding, and agency. Through these experiences, I apply architecture and urban design as a tool for learning, inclusion, and empowerment, adapting approaches to diverse cultural and institutional contexts.
I also have extensive experience in designing and conducting transnational learning and exchange activities, including participatory workshops, peer learning activities, and collaborative design processes involving cities, researchers, educators, and other local stakeholders. In URBACT networks, I apply expertise in integrated and participatory urban strategies, urban design, qualitative spatial analysis, and capacity building, helping cities to co-create inclusive and context-sensitive urban solutions through structured dialogue and shared learning.
