Summary
I have been researching and working on innovative, place-based sustainable development initiatives and strategies for nearly two decades. I hold a PhD in Urban Studies and I carried our research in Italy, Germany, and the United States. As a practitioner, I supported different Municipalities across the EU in the design, management, and/or coordination of European Projects and strategies focusing on a range of topics, including community-led and participatory approaches, nature-based solutions, circular economy principles, social innovation, cultural heritage, and sustainable mobility. I organised and facilitated a wide range of in-person and online peer to peer exchanges with international city representatives in the context of several EU projects (H2020, UIA, EUI, URBACT) or events (e.g., the European Week of Regions and Cities, the EUROCITIES Social Affairs Forum, the first EUI Capacity Building Event on CLLD, and the first EUI Policy Lab on Culture and Cultural Heritage) fostering proactive interactions and mutual learning on sustainable urban development innovative experiences and models. Currently I chiefly collaborate with URBACT and the European Urban Initiative. With URBACT, I am the Lead Expert for the CITISENSE Innovation Transfer Network, and one of the Ad-Hoc Experts for the S.M.ALL Action Planning Network. With the EUI, I am a City-to-City Exchanges Moderator, as well as the IA-Expert for the We-Z Roma, InterACT Green Varazdin, and CULTIGEN Copenhagen Innovation Action projects. I am based between Milano and Frankfurt am Main
