    Das URBACT Walk’n’Roll Cities Guidebook für Innovationen im öffentlichen Raum & Mobilität ist da!

    Eine der größten Herausforderungen für viele Städte in Europa liegt in der eigenen Stadtstruktur. Denn gemäß dem Prinzip der räumlichen Trennung von Wohnen, Arbeiten, Bildung, Einkauf und Freizeit müssen wir täglich verschiedene Wege zurücklegen, um diesen Bedürfnissen nachzukommen. Zudem wurden Städte im Zuge der Funktionstrennung in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten für die Mobilität mit dem Auto gebaut. So können die täglichen Wege zwischen den verschiedenen Teilen der Stadt schnell und bequem zurück gelegt werden. Dadurch sollte die Lebensqualität gegenüber der Nutzung anderer Mobilitätsarten gesteigert werden. Das Resultat ist jedoch ein erhebliches Verkehrsaufkommen, wie es tagtäglich in unseren Städten vor allem in den Morgenstunden zu sehen ist. Die Mobilität mit dem Auto weist negative Folgen auf, die bereits kurzfristig eben diese scheinbar gewonnene Lebensqualität stark beeinträchtigen. Luftverschmutzung, Lärmbelästigung, Bodenversiegelung, Hitzeentwicklung und Vereinsamung sind nur einige dieser negativen Konsequenzen.

    Along with the serious list of implemented social and infrastructure projects financed by the EU Structural and Cohesion Fund during the past two program periods), Veliki Preslav (Bulgaria) is working hard towards the finale of its first transnational project as a network partner in the “Global Goals For Cities” network, in which the city of Tallinn is a leading partner.

    Pod inicijativom Walk’n’Roll, 27 europskih gradova iz tri URBACT mreže (RiConnect, Thriving Streets i Space4People) imali su zajedničku misiju. Zajedno su promišljali o tome kako mobilnost može igrati važnu ulogu u izgradnji boljih javnih prostora i povećanju kvalitete života lokalnih zajednica. Iván Tosics, URBACT stručnjak koji je pratio njihovu razmjenu i učenje, dijeli s nama neke od najvažnijih zaključaka, otkrića i otvorenih pitanja koja su se pojavila u sklopu Walk’n’Roll inicijative i koja su objedinjena u potpuno novom vodiču.
