Tallinn ULG is back on track

Edited on 29/09/2020

The Estonian URBACT Local Group gathered together to start making plans for the new school year. The session provided an overview of the current situation of the ON BOARD project, previous work carried on and future plans.

The participants were able to listen to a presentation on the current situation of the Estonian business landscape, the need for specific professions in the labour market, the role of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its connections with the field of education.

As an individual task, all participants were able to analyse and discuss the ON BOARD project-related activities that took place in the previous academic year. Simultaneously, they were asked to provide feedback on what had worked well, what needed to be improved and what they completely disliked during the process of the project so far.

At the end of the seminar, the participants were actively engaged in group work where each city district developed their action plan for the 2020/21 academic year.

Discover below what Tallinn ULG would like to take with to the new course, what to make better and what to leave behind.

After the last course, the aspects that should continue are the network meetings and seminars as well as the regional meetings and social cooperation. One of the main objectives of the transfer network is to share and exchange experiences and that is another point to keep on practicing, so as to create new contacts and ideas by knowing the activities carried out in other countries and institutions.

Despite those many things that have worked well, there are some aspects that need to be improved such as the cooperation between companies and educational institutions. More examples of how to make contacts and start cooperation would be needed to achieve this task. There is also an existing need for sharing different possibilities and experiences for community involvement. Setting common goals and making cooperation between districts clearer are as well some of the aspects to be improved.

What would Tallinn ULG like to leave behind? Being uncertain about what happens after the project and thinking not only about what to do but also how to do it.

Challenging objectives that will surely be achieved.
