Gender equality has long been at the heart of URBACT’s work, alongside green transition and digital transformation, as a key driver of sustainable and inclusive urban policies.
Building on the insights from URBACT’s Gender Equal Cities reports (2019 & 2022), this new initiative aims to equip urban practitioners with practical tools to integrate gender perspectives into planning and policymaking.
This year, URBACT introduces two initiatives to enhance knowledge and skills in gender equality:
Gender Equal Cities Online Course:
A five-module course offering practical tools and strategies for integrating gender perspectives into planning processes. Sessions are delivered bi-monthly, combining live webinars and collaborative exchanges. This training only open to URBACT beneficiaries involved in Action Planning and Innovation Transfer Networks. With limited spots available, early registration is encouraged. Participants who attend at least four modules will also receive a certificate of attendance.

Webinar on Gender inclusive mobility in cities:
A focused session, in the afternoon of the 5 March at 14:00-15:30 (CET), exploring inclusive solutions to mobility challenges from a gender perspective. This session is open to everyone interested in making mobility more gender inclusive, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to engage with experts and peers, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions to tackle gender inequality in urban mobility.
