The idea emerged from community consultation and was validated through multiple usability tests involving citizens of different age groups. Over 69% of the ULG participants found the platform easy or very easy to use, indicating a good overall acceptance of usability. These insights shaped a more inclusive and intuitive WebApp that responds directly to real user needs. By digitalising mobility services and improving access to real-time information, including QR codes at bus stops, Mob.Feira embodies URBACT’s spirit of innovation, participation, and sustainability. It is not only a tool for navigating the city but a driver of behavioural change, encouraging citizens to adopt greener and more connected mobility habits.

Bus stops and poles equipped with QR codes that allow users to access real-time information on the lines and schedules of the buses serving that stop
The Mob.Feira WebApp is being expanded through the implementation of 46 QR Codes installed across selected bus stops and signage poles in the municipality.
These QR Codes act as direct digital gateways to local transport information, enabling users to instantly access bus lines, routes, and timetables relevant to their exact location. The goal is to simplify the way residents and visitors interact with the public transport system, making mobility information clear, accessible, and easy to use for everyone.
The user flow is designed to be intuitive and inclusive: while waiting at a bus stop, the user scans the QR Code using their smartphone camera. The scan automatically opens the Mob.Feira WebApp page associated with that specific stop. The user can then view real-time schedules, identify which buses serve the stop, and check expected arrival times or service updates.

This simple interaction creates a seamless link between physical mobility infrastructure and digital information, reinforcing the municipality’s commitment to accessible, connected, and user-friendly public transport services for all.
Mob.Feira WebApp, officially presented during European Mobility Week
As part of the European Mobility Week (16–22 September), the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira officially presented the final version of the Mob.Feira WebApp on Monday, 22 September, at the Cultural Centre of Milheirós de Poiares, the pilot parish where the project is being implemented.
The event brought together local residents, including a group of senior citizens, who had the opportunity to explore the platform, ask questions, and test its main features in a guided, hands-on session. The focus was on helping users familiarise themselves with the app’s practical tools, such as real-time public transport information, bus lines, schedules and how to access information in a bus stop via QR codes.
Local political representatives attended the session, including the Councillor for Urban Planning, Transport, and Mobility, who highlighted the project’s relevance for the municipality and its alignment with URBACT’s goals of sustainable, inclusive, and connected urban mobility.
The launch of the Mob.Feira WebApp marks an important milestone in Santa Maria da Feira’s Integrated Action Plan, demonstrating how digital innovation and citizen engagement can go hand in hand to improve accessibility, trust, and participation in public mobility solutions.
