Vilanova i la Geltrú was not starting from scratch. With Neàpolis as a local innovation hub, the city already offered a wide range of services for entrepreneurs and digital talent. Yet for many potential users, the ecosystem felt fragmented and difficult to navigate.
Through the C4TALENT exchange process, a simple but powerful insight emerged: a door that is hard to find might as well be closed. Rather than creating new programmes, Vilanova focused on coordination. The city redesigned the entrepreneur’s journey, clarified roles among local actors, and repositioned Neàpolis as a clear and visible entry point into the local ecosystem.
The result is greater coherence. Talent and entrepreneurs now know where to knock—and what to expect when the door opens. Vilanova’s Integrated Action Plan reflects this shift, focusing on accessibility, clarity, and stronger connections between existing initiatives.
Sharing Results Locally
On 10 December, Vilanova i la Geltrú hosted the event “Building a Talent-Driven City in Vilanova i la Geltrú” at Neàpolis. The event brought together institutions, businesses, the educational community, and city representatives to share the key insights and results of the C4TALENT journey.
The programme included an overview of the project and its local and transnational learnings, followed by short contributions from members of the URBACT Local Group, representing higher education, business support organisations, regional cooperation bodies, and cultural and creative education. Together, they reflected on how better coordination can strengthen a sustainable local talent ecosystem.
The event concluded with an informal networking moment, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that underpinned the project.
