    GreenPlace in Wrocław: Two and a Half Years of Co-Creation

    Over the past two and a half years, the City of Wrocław, through the Division of Civic Participation, has been implementing the GreenPlace project within the URBACT programme, focusing on the transformation of the former Popowice tram depot into a vibrant, green and inclusive place for the city. A key element of this process was the work of the URBACT Local Group (ULG) GreenPlace in Wrocław, which brought together representatives of the municipality, municipal units, experts, NGOs, local activists, cultural operators and residents, united by a shared vision for the future of this unique site.

    The URBACT Secretariat organises a series of four webinars exploring how cities can collect, analyse, monitor, and turn social data into effective public policies. Each session will focus on a different step of the social data cycle, sharing practical insights and experiences from cities across Europe.

  • Iedzīvotāju skaita samazināšanās un demogrāfiskās pārmaiņas reģionos - URBACT dalība ESPON seminārā

    2025. gada 5. decembrī Rīgā norisinājās seminārs, ko organizēja ESPON kontaktpunkts Latvijā sadarbībā ar Viedās administrācijas un reģionālās attīstības ministriju (VARAM), URBACT un Eiropas Pilsētiniciatīvas kontaktpunktiem Latvijā. Pasākuma centrā bija jautājums, kas skar daudzas Eiropas valstis – iedzīvotāju skaita samazināšanās un demogrāfiskās pārmaiņas reģionos.

  • Bridging Research, Innovation and Inclusion: The Archimedes Center of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

    Across Europe, universities are increasingly called upon to play a more active role in shaping inclusive local innovation ecosystems. Beyond education and research, they are expected to connect knowledge with society, support entrepreneurship, and open pathways for diverse talents to participate in digital and technological innovation.

     

    At the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), the Archimedes Center responds to this challenge by acting as a bridge between academic research, technology transfer and entrepreneurship with inclusion embedded as a core principle rather than an add-on.
